Women CSO Space

Women_CSO_Space

The women’s CSO space is a co-working and co-creation space for women-led and women-serving organizations in Greater Kampala metropolitan area. The space is designed/established to provide women CSOs with.

  1. Technical and administrative support for women-led CSO. HADE is currently supporting Eleven (11) CSOs who majority are Women-led CSOs. These are benefiting from the technical and administrative support provided at the women CSO space in partnership with the Civil Society Strengthening Network- CSSN and Network for Active Citizens-NAC.
  2. Strengthen Women in Leadership. The women’s CSO space has hosted a series of leadership development training such as the school of local governance, budget Advocacy and Accountability-SLOGBAA, and Community Youth parliaments. Learning from these initiatives, HADE is working round the clock to design women in leadership initiatives. We want to build the capacity of women in elective and civil society executive leadership positions so as to shape policies, programs, and budget priorities that focus on gender equality. The capacity building will take different shapes that include women to women in leadership dialogues, peer-to-peer coaching and mentorship to recycle some of the Stereotypes about women empowerment, and structured Women in Leadership Academy (WLA).
  3. Women in Climate Action. Women in Uganda are among the vulnerable groups most affected by climate change due to their dependence on natural resources for their survival. The informal sector predominantly depends on women, who make up the major contributors. This puts them in the position easily affected by climate change and when empowered, the best group to combat it.
