Climate smart Play Spaces
This is a child-friendly and youthful urban play center designed to give the Kampala urban ghetto children an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of improving their environment in a playful way that equally keeps the mothers confident about the safety of their children.
Climate-smart play spaces allow children to co-develop play tools using safe recyclable materials collected by their mothers and community members. approximately 55% of all children, almost 1.5 billion, live in cities (Unicef). The Climate Smart Play Space is a peer-to-peer play and learning space for children that embraces the value of climate change and environmental conservation. In 2022, the space was recognized as the best urban play space in Africa and among the best 6 in the world by the Real Play City Challenge also was among the best eleven (11) climate-friendly urban play spaces in the world awarded by British Council UK.
